Date Stamp Seen in the Wild

While looking through images submitted for a book project I'm working on with a local group of artists, I spotted a creature I thought had already been brought to extinction ... the date stamp. I could hardly believe my eyes. Right there, obscuring part of the artwork, was the date and time the image was taken.

Talk about distracting! There's no magic way to retouch the image in Photoshop to make the date stamp disappear. It just sits there ... forever ... telling jurors not to select your artwork. It's a shame, too, because the problem is easily solved by changing a setting on the camera.

So if there's a date stamp on images of your artwork, stop what you're doing ... right now ... and get the owner's manual for the camera. Look in the index and find out how to turn off the date stamp. Then do it, before you ruin any more photos of your artwork.
